Repairs great...service not even close...

If the review was based solely on repairs, this place would get 5 starts. My car looks good as new when it was something out of a horror movie (action movie is probably a better comparison). But I'm a firm believer in customer service and this place is seriously lacking especially management.

I took my vehicle in after a rear end collision and when I first arrived, it took a couple of minutes before someone greeted me at the front desk. Someone finally asked if I needed help...I'm not sure of his name but he was extremely nice and willing to help. After taking a quick glance at the damage, he told me that they would get back to me at the end of the week so they could give me an estimate. The end of the week came and went and didn't hear a thing.

So I waited through the weekend and decided to call near the end of the day on Monday. The manager, Ron, answered the phone and when I inquired about the estimate, he proceeded to explain in a demeaning tone how extensive the process was and he asked me, "I don't know what you are expecting in such a short timeframe...". I informed him that I was just going on what his employee told me and he just said, "Well he was wrong..."

I finally received the estimate at the end of the week and filed it through my insurance company which then authorized the repairs. I asked Charles Barker Collision (CBC) about how long it would take since the holidays were closing in and they stated it would definitely be done before Christmas. A week before Christmas and two weeks into the repair, I had to call them to get an update...they didn't think to call me. Again, I spoke to Ron and he, again, decided a demeaning tone was better than one of understanding and informed me that the damage was much harder to repair than originally thought. I am completely understanding of that but it was the way the message was conveyed.

Three days before Christmas, I was finally called saying that my vehicle was ready to be picked up...right in the nick of time before they closed up shop; it was about 4:00 pm. When I arrived, I looked around and the repair looked great but I noticed a large oily smudge on my hood. Shane quickly came out and used a compound to get it out. Everything else at first glance looked great. But when I got in and started my car, I got an error message saying that the Blind Spot Monitoring System had malfunctioned; this was an error that I received when my vehicle was damaged. I immediately got out of my car and tracked down Shane...he came out and told me that his technicians probably forgot to calibrate the system. He then proceeded to speak with the manager, Ron, who then came out to let me know he couldn't have his guys do the work because it took an hour and a half and it was the end of the day...no apologies...not a single ounce of sympathy/empathy. Ron then said he really didn't have any appointments before Christmas...after I raised a stink, he finally asked that I come in the next day to get it done.

I get home that evening and was looking at the trunk just to give another look and lo and behold...the car emblems weren't replaced on the trunk! I immediately call and...you guessed it, they wouldn't have the emblems until after Christmas meaning I would have to come in a THIRD time. Again...no apologies...

I get in that Saturday to have the Blind Spot Monitoring System calibrated and meet up with Ron...again, no apologies, not a single sorry for the complete inconvenience, etc. They get the work done in an hour and I'm on my merry way to plan out when I could come back again to get the emblem on.

This place does some fantastic work but they aren't near as complete and customer service oriented as many places out there. If you don't care about customer service or having to drive back and forth to this place to get 100% of the product, then this is the place for you. But for everyone else...avoid this place until they give their staff classes on Emotional Intelligence or Customer Service.
