Help us make it rightSimply translated, CHAM means "meal for the workers." In the wider Korean philosophical sense, it also means embracing a well-prepared meal for a healthy mind and body.
Korean cuisine gets a “modern twist” at this Pasadena canteen where an A.O.C. alum turns out “tasty”, “quick-bite” fare like bulgogi steamed buns and tofu pockets; the “minimalist” look is offset by easygoing prices, and area office-workers rely on it for lunch.
This venture of fashion designer Kimmy Song further proves that Korean cuisine has gone mainstream in L.A. Cham is a particularly hip space for a small neighborhood joint, with communal tables paired with sleek blonde wood chairs and a minimalist silvery-grey palette enhanced with polished wood accents. L.A. likes its Korean food big, meaty and barbecued, but Pasadena's taking a more delicate approach. No grills on the table here, that all happens backstage. Cham has good concept. Korean food, with a modern twist, with some fusion and small plates as well. The entree portions are reasonable and the food tastes great. There is also an interesting selection of Korean-inspired tapas. The cleverly named Chambinations are also very good. The beef bulgogi steamed buns are terrific.

This place is AWESOME! The portabello fries and the bibimbap are awesome! Staff is great and very helpful!
This place is great. The waiters seemed to know their stuff when we asked what was vegan, which seems to be everything on the menu that looks vegetarian. They also said they could make us most dishes with tofu.
We tried the CHAM Salad (spring mix, carrots, jicama, sesame brittle, soy-balsamic vinaigrette), California bibimbap, pickled seaweed tofu pocket and arugula & radish tofu pocket. Very...
