my honest review

I believe an honest review can be helpful to
those wanting to buy a home (which is a big decision, and if done the wrong way might impact your life financially and emotionally).
My honest review:
Shana Coelho and Joe Agostinho can be great realtors, as salespeople will get you convinced on buying their product, but be careful when buying a home. My advise is: hire a good attorney, make sure that Shana or any other agent from this Scotch Plains Century21 are free from any conflict of interest. In the case of my husband, Shana Coelho was the owner of a house, and had one of her Century21 agents/employees (Joe Agostinho) sell the house for her. The sad part of the story was that the agent (who served as dual agent) never disclosed he was associated with Shana (Employer-employee relationship).
After the purchase, problems emerged.
1- they had put a make up on the home before selling it (they installed new-good looking tiles right on top of the old-ugly tiles. They never cared to remove the old ones)
2- the house has a major foundation problem, which they did not disclose to us, and later claimed they knew nothing about it. If they knew nothing about it, then one should also be careful when trusting them as experienced agents.
The bottomline is, make sure your agent is working for your best interest, not against you. We learned this lesson the hard way.
3- After we complained about the problems with the house, they said it was way too late for me to complain. So again, be wise and use good judgment, before it's too late.
4- only after all this turmoil, I found out that Shana is the owner of the Scotch Plains Century21 listed above, and she is also the owner the LLC which was presented to me as the "Seller". Her employee/agent, Joe Agostinho, served as "Dual Agent" in the sale; later we discovered Joe Agostinho is also one the seller's employees... On and on....
In sum, my advise is use good judgment before signing a contract.
