Avoiding the chain-esk shops in Union Station before late moring Amtrak departure.Thought it might be nice to people watch and have breakfast in the Center Cafe Union Station...bad idea, bad service, bad food = avoid!

Ate at 5 pm on a Thursday. It was just after the blizzard, and only about 30% full. I had a table near the doors, and there was a strong cold breeze. This is a train station so it's very noisy.

It started with an employee telling our server, who was sitting in a side space clearly engrossed in his phone, to get off his phone and get us menus. He did. Eventually. Drinks were okay. We decided to take a day trip by early commuter Train into DC and got breakfast at the first place in Union Station we saw. Location was very convenient and not busy at all.
