Help us make it rightCecil & Faye Glickman established Cecil's Delicatessen on July 1, 1949. Their aim was to provide the highest quality products to the Highland Park, St. Paul community. They brought in their meat products from Chicago, which even today, is still the best producer of quality meats. They started with a very modest store and over the past 50 plus years the size of the building has grown and their...
In Short
Cecil's has been in business since 1949 as a deli and opened as a restaurant about 20 years later. For breakfast, locals stop in for French toast that's thick and eggy. The...
Cecil's is a fantastic place to eat, as evidenced by the people streaming in. The menu was extensive and offers something for everyone. The meals were very reasonably priced and delicious to boot (I had the Russian Roulette with Potato Salad) and there is an extensive list of dessert items if lunch doesn't fill you up.

What an interesting place. Reminds me of Deli's that used to be on the lower East side of NY - that no longer exist. I had a Reuben - we all had a different dish and all thought they great. All of us (4 adults, 2 children) enjoyed our (diverse) meals. Lots of unpretentious tables-very busy place. We were there...
I think they have the best Rubens in the twin cities. I prefer their pastrami. The "just like New York" and the "some like it hot " are my favorites. I love the chicken matzo ball soup!
We have been looking for a traditional deli in the Twin Cities for a while. We found it! While we prefer Katz in New York or Brent's in West Lake Village this place is good. The place is packed with customers and does a very nice job.
Corn Beef Hash for brunch was awesome. In past visits I enjoyed Borscht and they have the best Ruebens.
Authentic and owned for generations - a must stop if I'm Highland Park area of St Paul and worth a drive if you are not!
Favorites also include fried salami. Ask your server if it's not on the menu.
