First the good - very convenient in the center of town. Second floor walk-up in a converted old apartment - pretty cool - ability of separating rooms with french doors and all. We had a group of six at this BYOB. Staff was pleasant and we were never rushed. Expectations were high, but unfortunately, the food was just okay. Bland...

I had been to this restaurant a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Some friends were raving about it recently so when two other friends asked us to join them for dinner somewhere I recommended this place. I'm sorry to say I was very embarrassed for recommending it. We had no problem getting a reservation for a Friday night...

Casa Filippo is a family owned restaurant with Savario the owner/chef at the helm. It's a converted apartment with cozy rooms and hand painted walls. The food is excellently prepared and seasoned. It's like dining in someone's home - one perched above the tumult of Bloomfield Avenue. All the appetizers scored high. Recommended entrees include stuffed shrimp and sole, the snapper oreganato and the Calabrese fish stew. Great place for a company party; we've had a few there.
