What a horrible meal. Everything tasted like it was from a can. My soup was called pasta fiagioli but in reality it was minestrone. Pasta Fiagioli doesn't have carrots and red beans and celery. It tasted like progresso. My chicken marsala was tough to chew,drowning in a weird colored gravy with canned veggies also drowning in the gravy mess. The mashed potatoes tasted like potato flakes. Overall, some where in the middle. The decor is nice the atmosphere varies with who is at the bar. The service was good even if the waiter had an odd demeanor. The meal is where the really odd part comes, A delicious perfectly cooked prime rib, with CANNED veggies. Who does that? I ate the steak, left the veggies and was happy. My dinner mates enjoyed their meals.

My husband and I visited Carrie Welton's this past Saturday, for the first time. We got there around 5:00 and had no problem being seated.
We ordered "surf and turf" and a drink. We were served our food in a timely manner and the food was delicious. However, our waiter never return until we were done to ask if we wanted anything else, nor did he say good-by to us when we left.

This is one of the best restaurants in Connecticut! We've never had a bad meal, the service is great and the dessert (rice pudding to die for!) I pick it up several times a month to go and take it home for dessert. We always suggest having get-togethers there. The family loves it too.
