Rooms are equipped with large work desks, ergonomic chairs and two telephones; in-room high-speed Internet access is available for a fee. Other standard amenities include ASIRA bath products, cable TV with two premium channels, hair dryers and coffee makers.

A short skiing trip and some exquisitely nasty snow forced us to the Marriott Hotel (the old railroad station) in Scranton. Miracles do happen. We had the pleasure of dining at Carmen's. An enchanting and diverse menu, excellent service, dining in a magnificent setting (the tile murals and the Tiffany glass ceiling are worth the trip) - this is a world-class restaurant. Each dish was superb: tuna with peppers - the tuna was perfectly done. Our thirteen year old asked for the recipe for the cream of turkey soup. Fondue: the cheese was of ideal consistency - no burning off or dilution...
