Information about this business (2)

Carbone is an Italian-American restaurant created by Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi and Jeff Zalaznick. The restaurant pays homage to the essence of the great Italian-American restaurants of mid-20th century in New York, where delicious, exceptionally well-prepared food was served in settings that were simultaneously elegant, comfortable and unpretentious. The food nods to that same history, but...

Recreating the streets of the lower reaches of Hell's Kitchen, Michelin starred Carbone brings authentic Italian-American cuisine with delicious daily specials to Manhattan. Created by the folks behind the beloved Torrisi Italian Specialties brand, the restaurant recalls 50s-era Italian joints with a menu of familiar favorites and—no joke—floor tiles based on a scene from The Godfather. With a...

13 Excellent Restaurant Salads in New York City

Meat dishes may get a lot of attention in the press these days, but let's not forget that New York City restaurants are also home to some very fine plates of greens. Here, now, is a guide to 13 essential sit-down salads across the city. They range far beyond the usual lettuce and vinaigrette, but most are best eaten while the weather's still warm. So get on it:

Carbone Will Expand to Hong Kong Next Month

Looks like the Torrisi team is planning to cover Hong Kong in Red Sauce. A Hong Kong PR posts to Facebook: "Carbone Hong Kong.... It's official! Be ready for a feast of New York-Italian cuisine when the restaurant opens in August at LKF Tower." The building is already home to New York tapas restaurant Boqueria and the city...

We're Paying Tons of Money for Big Steaks in New York

The State of Steak in New York is expensive, and that's unlikely to change anytime soon. So to help monitor how much you'll spend on red meat in The Big Apple, we present the Eater Big Beef Indexes. These lists will track the price of the city's most expensive steaks, namely, the large format rib cuts, strips, and porterhouses, some of which can send your dinner for two into the $400 range.

Why We Should Fight NYC's E-Cigarette Ban

Imagine you're at Carbone, one of the country's best Italian-American restaurants. Your evening's going pretty well. Then the wait captain, in full red tuxedo regalia, starts shaving white truffles, one of the world's most expensive luxuries, over your sheep's milk agnolotti. Now your evening's going very well. You inhale the ethereal perfume. And then you cough.

Good afternoon!
I tried to contact the management before sending out this review. But since it’s impossible to talk to somebody even at the restaurant here’s my review and I hope this situation could be fixed in the future for others.

We were very disappointed with our meal and overall experience recently at Carbone for our first wedding anniversary.
I ordered the spicy rigatoni vodka which I would rate as average for NYC standards. My wife ordered the fettuccine con funghi and did not care for...

If you can wait a month for a reservation (that you might or might not get!) for a special occasion, this is a wonderful place to try. I’ve been several times for family dinners and a couple special date nights! Most recent visit was date...
