"You will never look at ice cream the same again" say fans of these "humble" gelaterias offering "mind-boggling choices" of "luxurious", "heaven-on-earth" treats; some find it "pricey" for a "tide-me-over" or dessert, but when the "super-kind", "hipster" staff "lets you sample a bunch of flavors", for many it's an experience best described "in a word: yum."

Following yet another trip to Italy, Stephanie and John Reitano decided to remedy the lack of gelato in their lives by producing small batches of their own, using Pennsylvania produce and milk from grass-fed, hormone-free cows. The results have garnered national raves. Flavors rotate but pineapple mint, Turkish coffee, pistachio siciliano, and ginger sesame are always available. The cafés—one...

I ordered chocolate and strawberry and I asked for the chocolate on the bottom. A simple request.

Business description (1)

Tips about this business (3) view all

Know Before You Go

Gelato has less calories than ice cream, as it's made from milk, not cream. Also, there's less air whipped into it and it's kept at a higher temperature than ice cream, giving it that concentrated, melt-in-your mouth appeal.

Save Money

If you're light in the wallet, you can get a mini-serving, which still allows you room to taste two varieties.
