What the community has to say about Cape Cod

Information about this business (15)

The Cape Cod, a much honored seafood restaurant, boasts of fresh seafood from the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, from the lakes and freshwater streams. It has been consistently named as one of America's finest dining spots since opening in 1933. Zagat's consumer survey also picked the Cape Cod as a top hotel restaurant. It was recently inducted by Nation's Restaurant News into the Fine Dining...

Tucked inside the Drake Hotel, Coq D'Or is one of the city's most elegant bars. It is not hard to believe that this dimly lit bar with its old world charm dates back to the early 1930s. Order up a martini, find a cozy table and bask in the swank of this experience. The menu features limited seafood selections, including a rich, flavorful clam chowder that is particularly satisfying on a cold day.

Rich oak wood and verdant greenery set the stage for this classic restaurant perched above the corner of the Magnificent Mile and the Gold Coast, with beautiful panoramic view of lake Michigan and Lake Shore Drive. Here guests enjoy outstanding service for breakfast and lunch 365 days a year.

Cape Cod Room Restaurant Review

Although this nautical haunt has been around since 1933, it remains a favorite among those looking to indulge in classic seafood dishes. Add to that the fact that the bar is appropriately old-school Chicago, but also friendly. Popular dishes include the Bookbinder red snapper soup, Dover sole that’s deboned tableside, and any of the lobster preparations. If you've come for a tryst, ask for one...

Although it has been around since 1933, this remains a very nautical and very nice place to indulge in dishes from the watery deep. Add that to the fact that the bar---as appropriately old-school as can be---is as friendly as a puppy dog.… Read More

STILL the finest restaurant in Chicago!

Old world ambiance with an outstanding and longstanding staff. Unfortunately, we live in Florida and Colorado and only get to Chicago once a year (or less), but always go to the Cape Cod Room whenever we hit "Chitown"!

We had dinner during Chef's week. The waiter , who's English could be better, admitted he had only been there 1 week so he recommended everything. We didn't order the specially reduced priced entrees although the price was right. We ordered Salmon and scallops. The cubed butternut squash was hard as a rock. One piece of pickled cauliflower ( the size of a quarter) was also included. So I only...

The Drake Hotel is a bit older, but our rooms were large and in immaculate condition, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the facilities were amazing. They have several restaurants and bars as well as salsa classes a few times a month. Tea at the Drake is a must. We enjoyed our week stay there and really appreciated the...

For my 30th birthday, a few friends and I decided to meet in Chicago for a long weekend. I try to use Hilton religiously, so we all ended up booking two nights at the Palmer House and then moved over to The Drake for two nights.
While the Palmer House was a lovely hotel, The Drake was in another class....

Certainly has the veneer of a rich history with celebs dropping in. We didn't meet any but loved the breakfast and seamless service. Very convenient location for ambling about. Loved the beds. Best restful night's sleep during an hectic but epic journey.
