Editorial reviews from the web (4)

A savvy "Silver Lake clientele" gathers on the "romantic" patio for "satisfying" "everyday bistro" fare at this "convivial" French boîte "hidden away" in the Sunset Junction; still, some dissenters are "disappointed" by "surly" service and feel it's "a little overpriced for the neighborhood."

Taking up residence next to Cafe Stella is this sexy little French bar offering more of what Stella is already good at:giving LA some sophisticated Parisian cocktails in a sweetly eclectic setting that's incredibly hard to find outside of the 6th arrondissement. The marble bar, outdoor patio, Chimay on tap, and waiters in white jackets will have you transported overseas in no time.

Cafe Stella Restaurant Review

Make the effort to find this little French treasure and you'll be well rewarded. Hidden away in the courtyard of the Sunset Junction complex, where Santa Monica and Sunset Boulevards intersect, this cozy spot offers warm atmosphere and unpretentious fare. The simple menu begins with French onion soup, a must-order. The kitchen has a way with poultry: crispy duck confit comes with pistachios and...

Ideal nocturnal for any Parisian punk poet worth his snazzy Beaujolais. Charmingly Euro back alley bistro with nightly specials scrawled on chalkboard. Used to be a respite from the mad, mad world. Now, said world intrudes like a certain so-called cheap joke named democracy. Dijon lamb chops and chocolate soufflé for two; booty dividends paid upon completion. Escargot-loving French waiters must...

I go to this outstanding place often because I enjoy the special atmosphere that is part of this restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly and skillful. The service is very efficient. Most important, the food they cook is exceptionally good. I have been there often and I was always joyful. The pay is decent. I suggest this restaurant to my friends and family.

The best of all.

I was here a couple of times and wasn't disappointed. Really good prices. Great coffee, great music, great work of art, people sitting and chatting, and fliers of local events, the best of all.

One of my favorite locations for quality french food!

This spot in adding to my lunch rotation during the week. It's pretty, chill, and comforting. It's right next to Intelligentsia and a meat and cheese shop. I enjoyed an avocado toast in a nice shady spot and chilled for my lunch break. There's street parking available. Will come back for sure!

We dine here often, as this is the closest we have gotten to food in Paris. The food, service and ambiance is always appreciated by all new friends we bring here. A great place for a date or to have a delicious meal with friends.

Authentic French brasserie and wine bar in the heart of Silverlake.

Charming and comfortable, Cafe Stella is your quintessential French neighborhood cafe. With six tables indoors and twelve more in the cute courtyard, it is small in size but big on ambiance. Enjoy your relaxed tête-à-tête outside, whilst surrounded by twinkling candles. How very intimate! Traditional French fare, rich in both flavors and calories leaves you happily satiated. Meat and fish...

Tips about this business (3)

The Extras: All coffee is brewed and made to order next door at Intelligentsia.

Know Before You Go: Service is impossibly slow and chaotically disorganized. Reservations are strongly recommended but that doesn't mean service will be any faster.

Parking: There's a free parking lot behind Stella off of Sanborn. It's big enough to accommodate most diners.
