Cafe Steinhof, open since 2001, is the distant cousin of our first Park Slope restaurant adventure Max & Moritz, which opened one block away in 1996 and featured monthly "Austrian Nights", with special menus from my birthplace, Vienna. Those proved so popular, that it seemed reasonable to try and establish a place that offered all Austrian food all the time.

My wife and I stopped to have some lunch and ordered the vegetarian ravioli. Our server was all smiles and pleasant. A nice atmosphere and a clean WC. The ravioli was good, but it seemed to be missing something. Would I order again? Probably not, but we would return, because the other dishes seemed worth trying.
