2Schae Cafe is so much fun! The food and coffee are fantastic, the ambiance is friendly and the owners have the best memory for familiar faces! From the minute you walk in you feel like you are surrounded by people you have known for years! It has become my staple cafe!
This cafe is like Cheers. The owners always know your name if you've been in at least twice. The service is great, the friendliness is amazing, and the food is always fresh and delicious. I personally feel that the earlier review was submitted by the girl, who goes by "D" since D was anything but friendly, and as a result is no longer employed. Living in the West End City Apartments, 2Schae is my take out, and I eat there at least twice a week. There is a daily soup special, comfy chairs, outside seating, and fresh made iced tea and coffee. It is a great people watching location. The food does take longer than a fast food place to be made, but that is because everything is made fresh to order, and nothing is pre-made. I suggest anyone looking for a cute little mom & pop stop tries the 2Schae at least once, and you will be back for more!! (Edited July 28, 2009)
My sister lives on Pershing so we've met at this restaurant for lunch a few times. Our first two visits were earlier in the year and then once again last week. The first visits went well, we were helped by a young lady whose name I think began with a D? Both times our orders were made soon after being placed and we had no complaints. This last time, the owners? Lisa and Don? were there and it was probably the worst service I ever received at a sit down restaurant. It took nearly 20 minutes to receive our orders. Only three other customers had come and gone during this time. There was no reason it should take so long for a salad and cold sandwich to be made. We were sitting close enough to overhear the owners gossiping with someone I assume was a friend of their's. I was apalled by their lack of professionalism, slow service, and the poor quality of the food (the chicken on my salad was cold and tough) and coffee (also cold and tasted hours old). Never going back.
Outstanding service and the Southwestern Omelette was INCREDIBLE! Cheers!

It's my favorite cafe! When I can get moving early enough, I go there or find reasons to meet friends. Family owned and wonderful.
