Information about this business (3)

Experience the warm spirit of hospitality and the authentic cuisine of Italy, while dining al fresco and people-watching on the famous Sunset Strip.

Cafe Med, located at 8615 Sunset Boulevard, opened in July of 1993 and was the new concept from the BICE Ristorante Group. Casual and inexpensive, the menu consists of BICE's famous pastas, entree sized salads, a selection of wood-fired oven pizza and an array of items from the grill, including pork chops, chicken and Fiorentina steak. Overstuffed sandwiches compliment generously portioned...

Located in the trendy Sunset Plaza , Cafe Med is a less expensive alternative for those who would like to eat in this area but do not want to spend a fortune. The atmosphere is delightful, featuring both indoor and outdoor seating. The trendy, style-conscious clientele fill up the restaurant for lunch and dinner. As the name suggests, the menu is Mediterranean and offers dishes like risotto,...

Italian Dining on Sunset Strip

Cafe Med is a Roman-style Italian restaurant nestled into the center of the Sunset Strip. For World Cup, they flew the Italian flag. Many tables are on a platform under a parasol right on the sidewalk so that you can watch all of the beautiful people go by. Cafe Med has a constantly changing list of specials and a wide selection of pasta, pizza, salads and meats. The pizza is thin-crust and really good. I go there regularly and always have a good meal. Portions are generous. It's good for dates but occasionally it gets crowded and sometimes there are some kids. There is a lot of parking in the back, too. (Edited July 25, 2007)

Editorial reviews from the web (2)

"Pizza and people-watching from the patio facing Sunset" make a winning combo at this "easy, no-attitude" West Hollywood Italian, a "chill-out" spot where "the occasional celebrity can be found just hanging with friends"; it's "reasonable", so even if most go for the "prime location", they're satisfied with the "consistent" cooking too.

Moderately priced Italian dining in the heart of the chichi Sunset Strip.

In Short
With its perfect corner location and curbside tables, this cafe can get by on looks alone. A curving copper-topped coffee bar runs along the casual dining room. The...

Used to be faithful costumers for years a decade almost, the quality of foods decreasing every year. Disappointed when I discovered they using PROGRESSO LENTEL SOUP? Are kidding? Plus I never had a discount to be a faithful costumer for almost 8 yrs? Their waiters are so professional and efficient tough but the food is not good like before.

The food here is excellent and the service is just as fulfilling. The gnocchi melts in your mouth and fettuccine bolognese was very satisfying. Unfortunately, the hostess with black short hair that looks like a make believe rocker is not so great. She has a very poor attitude and has poor interpersonal skills. I am …
