The Café Express chain offers quick counter service and fresh food at affordable prices. Good choices include the hamburger with mildly spiced fries, and the fettuccine with a robust tomato-sausage sauce. Salads are a highlight, among which we recommend the chicken with pesto pasta over mesclun. Most locations have stylish, sunny patios and comfortable bars.

Cafe Express is pretty consistent every time I go. I always order the same thing, Signature Triple Deli salad, sometimes with two chicken salads, sometimes with two pasta salads. Portion sizes can vary (especially on the chicken salad). My newest find was the chips and guacamole. Guac is really good and fresh. Salsa is very smokey, but a good contrast to the guac.
