New name doesn't fool anyone

The new name is Avanti. It is the same owners just a new name. They thought by changing the name people would assume it was under new ownership, but it isn't. It is the same guys who got in trouble for watering down the drinks.

This place was outstanding!!!!! I had the Veal Piccata! I must say I am a Italian Restaurant junky!! I always try the Veal. This Veal melted in my mouth, if I had no teeth in my mouth I could've gummed it. Every bite was a taste from heaven!!! The service was magnificent!! Meal came in timely manner! Nice people, nice staff!! Definately deserves 5 stars!!!!

Pleasant staff and easy ambiance like Cafe 34 with a new wood fired pizza bar now where the entertainment stage was previously....very good addition. Quality seating at bar, TVs to pleases the drinkers while maintaining an enjoyable dining atmosphere elsewhere. Avanti represents true authentic Italian cuisine right here in Matawan, NJ. With Italian classics mixed with modern delicacies, you can't miss at the quaint trattoria. Its brick oven pizza is getting rave reviews, outdoor dining and a full service bar are sure to please all. Ask for Tony and he will guide you on a eclectic dining experience.
