This museum has some of the best American Art in the United States. The building itself is gorgeous! The Butler Museum is located in Youngstown OH. I am in to US art from the Hudson valley and folk art, the is very good and a highlight in a town that that has gone through a lot, a wonderful place, nice paintings of Homer, Van Gogh and a few Wyeth, we spent about 3 hours there - this is a real diamond in the rough

One of the first museums in the country built to display American artworks, The Butler Institute of American Art was founded in 1919 by Joseph G. Butler Jr. The permanent collection at 'America's Museum' includes pieces from the Colonial period to the present, featuring artists such as Mary Cassatt, Thomas Eakins and Charles Sheeler.
