Carnivores will love this restaurant. The Butcher's Shop is an eatery and wine bar, doubling as a butcher shop. The place is always filled with foodies at the tables and shoppers looking for cold cuts. Meats range from chicken to rabbit and the vegetarian dishes are also in equal demand. The place has a great view and a fantastic wine list.

A project from chef/restaurateur Barbara Lynch, The Butcher Shop is an unpretentious yet somehow haute charcuterie and wine bar installed in the heart of the South End. Its appeal lies in its handsome simplicity. A half-dozen stools line the bar; a blackboard lists daily wine specials; a bar-length wooden butcher's block sits in the back for tastings, where fresh-made salamis, forcemeats and...
A "mecca for meat" in the South End, this upscale-"casual" French-Italian steakhouse from Barbara Lynch uses "superior" cuts for its daily changing entrees and charcuterie boards, which are paired with a "lovely" list of "offbeat" wines by "educated" servers; the "intimate", "sanctuary"-like space is "so hard to get into", but guests can also drop by for butchery lessons or to purchase cured...

Excellent service and food; not enough space. The restaurant is small and our table was not big enough for the three of us.
Pros: Nice atmosphere and food is typically good. Wide selection of Barbera wine. Cons: Expensive (Chicken $36, for example) Caesar-like salad w/ Italian kale was mediocre and small ($18).
It was great! Love the steak tar tar, it’s my go to!
Always an excellent meal. Save your money and go. This place is a treat!
Food was good, but a little too salty. Would go again though. Service was excellent.

by the travels of Chef Barbra Lynch's travels throughout Europe, The Butcher Shop celebrates all that the old world boucheries of Europe had to offer. Though the shop's prices may make you blush, it's still cheaper to take some meats home than to enjoy a few plates at the bar.
If it's available, grab a stool by the front window to enjoy an exceptional people-watching vantage point.
No reservations are taken. Arrive either early or after the dinner rush, or expect to wait an hour for one of the few tables.
