Portland's Non-Traditional (Non-Beef) Burgers, Mapped

Everybody loves a good ol' beef burger, but for The Five Days of Meat, we thought we could mix it up with a little something different. It's not everyday that you think to go out for an elk, buffalo, lamb, or venison burger, but as it so happens, Portland is teeming with spots serving up wild game. Coupled with lots of toppings (and in some cases, additional opportunities to add more protein),...

PDX Beer and Cheese Fest; New Deli Coming to Sellwood

CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL— Burnside Brewing Co. plays host to the third-annual Portland Beer and Cheese Fest, set for this Sunday, June 15. The official Portland Beer Week event promises 11 distinct beer-and-cheese pairings by Cheese Bar monger Steve Jones; expect brews by the likes of the Commons, Double Mountain, and Gigantic. Tickets are $35 including all tastes, a souvenir glass, and...

Whether you come for the beer (yes the IPA is great but you gotta try the Sweet Heat wheat with peppers and apricot) and enjoy the food or vice versa since the menu's so good (the burger's seared in duck fat y'all), it's a win-win

This popular Lower Burnside brewery transcends pub grub with its ambitious menu--think shrimp daikon fries, mussels in Massaman curry broth, the infamous "Cohiba" (duck confit fried in a crepe and wrapped in collards), and for dessert, heirloom spice cake with Grand Marnier frosting.

Being from Minnesota we enjoyed the friendliness of all the people. Good selection of beers and their recommendation as to what I wanted was right on. If you have time check it out.

last night in Portland, and headed here for a few drinks. There are lots of these places now brewing their own beer. Plenty to choose from on the menus. Friendly staff- they also serve food here too if you want

Pub-like Comfort and Craft Beers

The Burnside was near our hotel (the Jupiter) so was very convenient. While we expected the beers to be good and plentiful, the unexpected surprise was that the food was innovative, fresh, and delicious. We went back several times during our stay.

Whether you come for the beer (yes the IPA is great but you gotta try the Sweet Heat wheat with peppers and apricot) and enjoy the food or vice versa since the menu's so good (the burger's seared in duck fat y'all), it's a win-win

Burnside Brewing Co takes up one whole city block serving up all your drinking needs. Think of it as the Powell's of beer.
