The British Bell is born of precious memories of afternoon tea with the proprietor's English grandmother. As a child visiting mom-mom meant a fine porcelain tea cup filled with a warm soothing brew accompanied by some sweet savory. This tradition became an adult practice shared with the proprietor's close friends. Now this fine tradition is lovingly extended to all of the British Bell guests.

Lunch with two great friends today. We live in Maryland and each month we pick a different restaurant to have lunch. What a wonderful experience we had at the British Bell Tea Room in Newark, DE. Thanks for a wonderful memory.

I hosted a 40-person bridal shower at the British Bell in May and would highly recommend it for other party planners who are looking for a venue that is pleasant, elegant, and accommodating. A Wonderful Place for a Shower

We held my daughters Bridal Shower here because she wanted a tea party. Her MOH made it an 'Alice in Wonderland' theme. She asked the guests to wear hats (funny or otherwise) and she gave a prize for the best. The food was very good and the clotted cream delicious. Wait staff was on top of every request. Terrible Tea

Inauthentic, tried to pass off whipped cream (probably out if a can) for clotted cream. I lived in England for a short time and someone at the restaurant tried telling me it was a type of clotted cream. Heavy whipping cream is not clotted cream.
