Cozy bookshop packed to the ceiling with all manner of finds. Friendly and helpful cashier up front, just a 5min walk from the Red line station. I was there for the cookbooks, and they had an awesome selection, all extremely reasonably priced. I scored an early Rick Bayless in great shape for $7. Will definitely be back again when we're in town.
The only store where I could find a copy of '100 Years of Solitude" on the rack. I thought it was a classic? I guess Bookworks thought so too. Wound up with four other titles. Great prices.
Parking lot in back was jammed up and it may be tough to find a street spot in this Wrigleyville locale.

Not great if you are looking for a specific book, but wonderful for spending an afternoon browsing the stacks. All books are in good or excellent condition and the price is half or less than the suggested retail.

Bookworks was established in Chicago in 1984 near Wrigley Field on the city's northside. After spending the first three years in a small storefront, the shop relocated across the intersection to 3444 N Clark Street. The owner, Bob Roschke, was joined by Ronda Pilon in the expansion and daily running of the business. This larger store dramatically increased the number and quality of the items...
