Editorial reviews from the web (4)

On the Midtown scene since 1979, this "spacious" Indian remains a "solid standby" for all the "standards"; maybe the once-"sumptuous" surroundings are getting "a little tired", but no one's weary of its "good-value" $17 lunch buffet.

This Midtown Indian establishment touts its brunch and prix fix dinner offerings of subtly spiced exotic Moglai dishes. Menus are reasonably priced and the location for a trip to a Broadway show could not be more convenient.

Bombay Palace Restaurant Review

The Bombay Palace remains an avatar of the spicy complexities of Moghlai cuisine, originated by nobles in the north of India. In the several decades since Sant Chatwal created this roomy, paneled duplex and set palates a-tingle, its skilled kitchen crew has kept it in the forefront of the tandoori crowd. If service is sometimes erratic, guests may pass the time admiring a large and somewhat...

Upscale Indian dining in midtown, with a wide-ranging menu.

GREAT LUNCH SPREAD

Average Rating

The lunch buffett spread is all you need to know... This is a great place to go when craving Indian food given you have a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The only thing about Bombay Palace is its inconsistency. Sometimes it tastes extremely fresh yet other times it feels like they are serving leftovers from days before. Because...

Almost back to India

The decor is great, the music is authentic, the service was excellent. The problem is after eating in New Delhi, Rishkesh, Jaipur, it is hard to get fully pleased with the Indian food served here. It has made so many adjustments to fit the clientele that it left an empty feeling in my mouth: I desired something more. Nevertheless, for...

They charge 18% gratuity for 2 people plus expecting 15% tip....for the worst service Ever...
Food : Pathetic .......We ordered Thali and Biryani and both were no where near being ok also ...
Clearly the worst choice and would never recommend...

Excellent buffet for Lunch

Average Rating

If you are hungry and looking for authentic Indian food then the buffet here is one of the best in the city. Check out the menu online. Atmosphere is casual with sitar music playing. Just off 5th Avenue, it is an active place but always pleasant wait staff who do not get into anyone's way when walking to and from...

Went for dinner with a co-worker while in NYC on business. Great drink menu // had the Blooming Hibiscus and Coconut Mojito. Yummy! All the food was delicious and the Butter Chicken was cooked very well. Will return to this restaurant for sure on next visit.
