Worth the drive from Middlebury to the small, quaint town of Bristol, The Bobcat is the place to be in the area. Fun, funky, and hip, this charming eatery is nice enough for a date but casual enough for the whole family. Hopping little brewpub on the main drag in downtown Bristol. Long straight bar on left hand wall seats about 20 with a few closely packed rows of tables opposite the bar. The place was packed and fairly loud. A dozen assorted beers on tap, harried servers, and tasty food.

I had the bistro steak and an ale made with maple sap, not maple syrup My wife had cioppino (in Vermont!) and a banana caramel sorbet. We shared a flatbread. All were excellent. I'm trying to convince my wife to come here for our anniversary. It's that good.

Delicious meal

I loved my meal, although my dining companion was unhappy that vegetarian and gluten-free options weren't marked. When asked, our server said there was a gluten-free option, but seemed vague in describing it which did not instill confidence.
