My male cat had a urinary tract blockage. This is a relatively typical procedure, but because it was on the weekend, I had to take him to the emergency vet. They were nice - albeit extremely overpriced (the estimate for 48 hours was $1900 originally, and I managed to get them down to $1100 -- which is still an insane amount) - at first. I paid them and they took my cat. And that's when the problems arose.
See, when they put the catheter in my cat, they hurt him. My own vet confirmed that this injury could only come from a catheter, since his urethra was torn right by his bladder. This caused him to block a second time, which they fixed and charged me an additional $500 to fix, for less than 24 hours of service. Their original estimate was $600, and only after I screamed would they take it down another $100.
My total bill from this place was around $1600 -- and they only had him for around three days. My actual vet had to put his catheter back in and had him for 5 days, and the total bill was less than half that.
So basically -- they forced me to pay for an injury that these idiots caused. Do yourself a favor: never bring your animals here.
The only veterinarian office in the area that sees squirrels. Thank God for them!
