For breakfast they offer the best home made hash and they make their own excellent breads and muffins. Quality and price combinations you can't beat. Lunch is not bad but go for the breakfast. Quite busy on weekends and you can expect service to be a little slow.

On our way our of Shapleigh, Maine we stopped for a hearty breakfast at Black Bear Cafe. My daughter spotted the place as we drove in earlier that week. We had spent an awesome week on Moussam Lake. Love this place. Food is great!! Prices are great!! Very good service. Highly recommend. Eat there as often as I can.

I love this place. My daughter and I tried their eggs Benedict, I got mine traditional, she got hers with a dill hollandaise and we traded to check out whose was better...I wanted to eat all of hers. Brought my son and his wife, again, a great breakfast. She had the blueberry pancakes and couldn't believe how HUGE and delicious they were. The waitresses are a hoot and super attentive. Heading...

I took my daughter and her boyfriend out for breakfast at the black bear cafe for the first time. It was HORRIBLE! The waitresses where rude, not friendly at all, and never once came over to see how our meal was. What a disgrace! Worst place EVER I have ever eaten at!!!!!!!!
