Large group, 20-30 of us, come to Kentucky Lake every April to cash in on some Spring time crappie. Asked the folks at KenLake where in Murray we should all go, and they recommended The Big Apple. Great place. Wonderful staff, great food, & amazing atmosphere. Love going here for lunch, dinner, or just to hang out with friends. Favorite family pub.

Don't go there for the food

If you are looking for a place to drink and smoke inside - go there. But don't go for the food. Tried the Smoo and the bean wrap and both were disgusting. The beans are canned, not homemade salsa & they don't even use mexican cheese. It tastes like something we could have whipped up in the microwave. Seriously save...

Good old fashion joint

A nice bar with great service, friendly people and really good food. What a nice suprise in a small college town. An excellent selection of beers served cold with the ability to keep happy hour prices going. I could see it being my neighborhood bar if I lived there.

Quite a step up from my college days

I was a student at Murray State during the 70's. A trip to the Big Apple Cafe was referred to as "Going South," as you had to travel down across the Tennessee border to get there. It was a dingy little concrete block road house with a gravel parking lot, poor lighting, great food and great bands.
