Editorial reviews from the web (5)

Surrounded by key historic sites as well as many nightlife options, this five-story Best Western hotel is within walking distance of just about everything you need. Built in 1856, it has been run as a hotel since 1988. The high-ceiling guest rooms have a few period touches; some also have modern conveniences like docks for your MP3 player. Deluxe rooms have parlors and king-size beds....

This top choice for bed-and-breakfast-style lodging has a great location, 2 blocks from Independence Hall. Now a Best Western franchise, the inn is housed in a handsome 1856 former dry-goods store with renovated rooms and a renovated exterior. The guest rooms, on eight floors, are normal size, with tall ceilings that make them seem bigger. Although all the windows are triple casement and...

In ShortThis handsome, comfortable gastro-pub perches on a busy Old City corner. Well-clad tourists, partyers, business people and couples dot the sleek wooden bar and tall tables, which look out through glossy windows to…

Enjoy historic Philadelphia on a budget at this unique Best Western property.

While Best Westerns are not generally known for their singularity, The Best Western Independence Park Inn offers a notable blend of contemporary facilities in a historic setting---smack dab in downtown Philadelphia. In fact, the building was erected in 1856 (the hotel itself opened in 1988) and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. You will enjoy 19th-century furnishings and...

US Custom House for Passport

Excellent hotel, service, and location. Had to find a hotel close to US Customs and this hotel is right across the street. The clerk on duty was extremely helpful. She was so resourceful. This hotel is a close walk to Penn's Landing area. The hotel is clean and the complementary hot breakfast is great.

The room was very nice - large, clean and well-appointed. But the parking lot is two and one half blocks away, and, at the time, was almost full, so I had to drag my final bag down the stairs (elevator not working) from the seventh floor and down the crowded sidewalks to the hotel. At the hotel, I was made...

Adorable hotel

Hotel was adorable. Breakfast was standard and no complaints there. Room was pretty small, but that's expected given the age of the hotel. Everything was clean and the room did not offer a view. WiFi worked with no issues and we got many channels. No complaints at all!

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice and cozy the Best Western Independence Hotel was. Very welcoming foyer and friendly staff to greet us we were able park righ in front, unload our luggage and self park our car right around the corner in a secure parking garage. We do not like valet parking so this was ideal. Walked across...

An old hotel with small clean rooms. Nice small lobby with fireplace. No gym in hotel, no pool.
Provide breakfasts, typical best western. Maid kept knocking on door the day of departure while I was still in bed.
I will not stay there again
