Beech Mountain is a beautiful hamlet in the far western mountains of NC. Definitely a summer respite if you are trying to beat the heat. It's 100 degrees in Charlotte and 65 up here at 4500 feet.

Visiting the area Christmas break, most ski resorts were closed. I called Beech, the fourth on my list. They were to open late, 1pm. We had 7 kids and 4 adults, too small for a "Group" (15), but I asked anyway. "Hold on" said "Tereasa", she came back and offerred an incredible package for all! We were instructed to arrive...
