Help us make it rightBazil's provides southern Arizona with a bit of Old Chicago charm and hospitality. Family owned and operated this Tucson Italian restaurant has become a fine dining tradition.
With a family name that sounds like an Italian herb, you have to trust these people to know their pastas, parmigianas and their pizzas, too; and you won't be disappointed. This North Tucson, Northern Italian restaurant, the pride of owners William, Bebe, Max and Andrea Bazil, serves up authentic cuisine in a comfortable, casually elegant atmosphere. Besides the standard Italian fare, you'll...
I agree with Tashal's review below. The only thing I liked was the ambience and that was compromised by sitting in the closed booth to the kitchen so there was a little too much activity nearby. The hostess was great, seating us away from a loud party, but the rest of the staff was young and obsequious in a mildly annoying way. The salad was the sort of thing of you'd get at Olive Garden, the soup was OK although I suspect this was because the weather had turned cold and any soup would have tasted good. The bread was (1) not warm (2) insubstantial (3) tasteless and (4) served with cold...
The owner was so pleasant and helpful to two out of towners that we went back a second night of our 3 night trip to Tucson!! The food was amazing and the service was top notch! Thank you Max for an amazing pizza and taking such great care of us!!
We heard about this place while making a Safeway stop for some hotel snacks.... And we will make a trip to Tucson again just to see Max and have his...
How does this place stay in business?/ I took my fiancee there last week for dinner, The ambience was great. The experience started with me ordering a Grey Goose and tonic and the tonic came flat. After I sent the drink back the bartender felt the need to come over and tell me ""not to expect the same amount of fizz in a bar drink as I would get at home from a bottle."" She continued to go on trying to justify it. I should have known to leave right then, but no....we ordered. The bread was so-so, with rock hard pats of butter. The pasta fagioli soup was gross. The celery was not cooked, and...
I like it but its expensive.
I absolutely loved this restaurant. I loved the table cloth on the tables, cloth napkins, ice water in the goblets. It gave the special touch. Bread with butter and freshly grated parmesean was served first and then the delicious antipasto salad. Once you were through, they serve the wonderful main course enough to feed 2 people! I loved everything about this place. I highly recommend Bazils!
