In ShortEstablished in 1873 and still thriving, this mainstream bookseller boasts almost 600 locations and does brisk online business as well. Ubiquitous and well organized, Barnes & Noble arranges its huge book selection in 22 user-friendly categories, from Art and Architecture to Romance and Travel. Stores host seasonal book signings and family-friendly "Storytimes." Many locations also offer music, movies and cafes that serve Starbucks coffee.

Ordered a book. Suppose to take 3-4 days. Gave phone number to call when received. Called, after no call, to find out, it was never delivered from warehouse after two weeks. Happened to have one on the shelf.
