Help us make it rightThe Original Arcade Bar
The original Barcade, opened in October 2004 in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn.
Looking for a bar where arcade-play rules? Well, look no more. In addition to a list of beers on tap that will challenge you to choose just a few, you will also face the arcade games which call for a steady hand. Try Black Chocolate Stout or an Oak Aged Dragonslayer while spending the night relaxing with friends, meeting new people, or challenging the games.
"Lined with old-school arcade games" (everything from Asteroids to Tetris and beyond), this Williamsburg "concept bar" set in a former warehouse is a "real-life dream" for "nostalgic Gen-Xers"; "awesome" microbrews from the "rotating taps" help to distract from the "hipster posses" elbowing you at the consoles.
Walls lined with thumb-jamming faves like Frogger and Tetris, 25¢ a pop. Classic Williamsburg; hipster breeding ground. Boys, watch out for the aggro, no-assed, skewedly plumaged female predator. Take a buck off the beers from 5 to 8 daily. Two dozen beers on tap help make for a fine place to get both laid and wasted. Kill two birds with one sideways haircut.
With a huge number of beers on tap in the middle of hipster haven, this former garage feels mellow, perhaps because of the wacky lighting scheme. In addition, all the ancient arcade video games for a quarter keep you going all night, blasting away at Centipede, Donkey Kong and so on.
This industrial-sized drinking and gaming space hides on Williamsburg's Union Avenue. A large bar keeps more than 20 taps running, but the attraction here is the wide selection of '80s-era video...
Nice big space all the games are classic arcade games from the 80's lots of good beer on tap, however this is a hipster hot spot zero people from the neighborhood go here just the hipster transplants, but you gotta take the good with the bad nowadays
I had the best time playing my childhood arcade games.BIM not a beer drinker but the UFO is so my favorite drink.
Its a nice place I just thought it was sooo cold inside especially the first couple of tables.... The Mens bathroom could definately be kept cleaner . It was a PigSty when I went But All in all very cool especially the Arcade Games
Great place to kick back and enjoy a drink and catch up with the good old days
An eclectic mix of classic arcade machines, awesome beers and fantastic staff. My wife and I spent a good few hours on her birthday here and would love to go back! Would recommend this place to anyone near Brooklyn or in New York!
The Original Arcade Bar. Since 2004.
Aging hipsters longing to recreate those days spent chasing high scores at the arcade adore this old-school Brooklyn haunt. Barcade literally has dozens of vintage video games—everything from Centipede to Galaga—and, now that everyone's legal, pints of craft beer replace cans of Orange Crush. Barcade's like the ultimate brainchild of video game nerds and beer nerds, set in an cavernous,...
Know Before You Go: The abundance of beer and video games skews the boy-to-girl ratio. It can be a great place to meet guys--if they can be wooed away from Ms. Pac-Man.
What to Drink: The complex Brooklyn Weissbock is a local favorite with a slightly sweet finish, and the Southampton Imperial Russian Stout, served in a wine goblet, is rich and smooth.
