Best bacon fried rice, lau lau is pretty good too. Not much seating, beach park is close by. They do a lot of to go business.

Go. Try it. It's great. I can't wait to go back next time I am on Oahu! Hawaiians know how to cook! You aren't supposed to judge a book by its cover. So why would you judge your food by it's appearance?

If you are in the Waianae area for any amount of time, you'll want to try both the L&L Drive Inn and Barbecue Kai. They serve the same kinds of plate lunches and sandwiches but they have their differences in presentation as well as lunch specials.
These are value oriented fast-food places with a unique local flair.

We were hungry in Waianae after a snorkeling cruise and found this. The first thing we noticed is they had quite a few customers (all local) in the middle of the afternoon. The food is good, not great, but there aren't a lot of choices in this sleepy little town. We liked the beaches around the town and at here...

good inexpensive food

Decided to try something off the beaten track. Jack in the box across the street...
Food was good and variety for picky eaters like my kid... burger for $2!
Had the garlic shrimp and it was great. As they say all meals in Hawaii come with macaroni salad and 2 scoops of rice as this did. Salad was ok.
