Third time's a charm for Le Petit Cochon. After getting panned by The Stranger and kind of liked by Seattle Weekly, Kathryn Robinson of Seattle Met delivers the Fremont restaurant's first (mainly) positive review. Of the two-month old "whole pig" restaurant: "...while the impassioned young chef-artiste wrests delectable flavor from unmentionables, old-school Euro connoisseurs will not be put...
A pretty positive set of reviews this week kicks-off with Seattle Magazine crushing on Vif, which joins other Upper Fremont newcomers Roux and RockCreek. Ali Scheff recommends, well, practically everything, but calls out the "tender scones," fruit galettes and a lentil salad "so delicious, you'll wonder how they did it." She declares that you will actually somehow leave Vif feeling lighter than...
While the Eater 38 is a resource that covers old standbys and neighborhood essentials across the city, it is not necessarily a chronicle of the "it" places of the moment. Thus, we offer the Eater Heatmap, which will change every month to continuously highlight where the food nerds are flocking to at the moment. This month, the ushering in of a single fresh face and a fond farewell to a more...
Here's a look inside Bar Cantinetta, which opened for dinner on Friday. The smaller, more wine-focused Cantinetta off-shoot is led by chef Emran Chowdhury, who oversees the menus at the other two locations (Wallingford, Bellevue). Currently on the menu: arancini (fried risotto balls), scamorza (smoked mozzarella) and summer peas; Quilceda farm duck egg, black truffles, bread; polenta,...

The gnocchi was to die for. Flavorful. Not too well done. And the sauce was divine. Great ambience. Great service. The beefsteak arrived a little overdone but was still delicious. The waiter noticed it was not medium rare and insisted on comping the dish even though we did not ask or complain. I highly recommend this place for a date night!
I love this place. It's a hidden gem.
Our go-to neighborhood gem. Staff always makes us feel welcome and valued. Food is always excellent and the menu changes often enough to keep things interesting.
I have found my favorite restaurant in Seattle! I absolutely love Bar Cantinetta and cannot wait to go back. The ambiance is my favorite: small, cozy, friendly and casually elegant. I had a lovely dinner after a long day of traffic and, literally, came in out of the rain. The pace of the service was perfect, the waiter welcoming and very helpful in choosing a beverage and an entree, the salad...
A lovely, intimate restaurant. Suggest you go a bit early if you can. Marvelous small Tuscan menu. Gracious staff.

Bar Cantinetta is owned by the same team which is behind Cantinetta at Wallingford Avenue. The food on their menu is simple but elegant Italian cuisine with Bistecca alla Tartare is among the specials along with signature pasta dishes. The ambience at the restaurant is chic and romantic and the service is attentive and very friendly. They have a collection of wines and a limited list of playful...
