THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED B. Smith's Restaurant Review

If you haven't stopped in for a Southern meal at this colossal Union Station eatery, you've missed one of Capitol Hill's major power-lunch scenes. At other times, expect to rub shoulders with suburbanites, tourists or city folk enjoying a rollicking time. Start big with jambalaya, deep-fried catfish fingers or the Southern classic, fried green tomatoes. For more of the South, try the crab cakes...

The dramatic dining room here once served as a presidential reception room hall, and now its 30-foot-high ceilings, white marble floors, and towering Ionic columns make it a fitting place for lobbyists, senators, and other well-paid Washingtonians to discuss serious business. On weekends, the ambience lightens up while romantic couples and Southern food-loving families dine here. The restaurant...

We did book ahead as this tour fills up fast! We purchased our tickets online, saved a few dollars. Great way to see the city, Captain Saline was so informative at each monument, he had been a history teacher and made this very fun and educational. Our three year old grandson throughly enjoyed the ride and going into the river...

I have been to DC more times than I can count. This was the first time we went on the DC Ducks tour, and we absolutely loved it! Franklin our guide and driver was fantastic and very amusing. He had interesting facts most would not hear on regular tours. It was great having a live tour guide. FYI, they leave...

A 90-minute tour. Capt. Steve was very knowledgeable and personable. Kids are even allowed to steer the duck a little when in a safe area of the harbor. Well worth the money. Every customer of any age seemed entirely pleased with the experience. Everyone received a fun duck call plastic souvenir, too.

With children it's a great way to see the city. The tour is 90 minutes starting at Union Station. We saw the white house, Capitol building, Jefferson memorial the Pentagon, Washington monument, the Potomac River, govt buildings on Constitution, Bureau of printing, Holocaust Museum air and space musuem and bunches of other musuems and exhibits.
On the water, the kids...

We booked online and got Captain Saleem. Very nice, funny and knowledgeable man. The tour was informative and the duck boat is very cool, despite being from WW2.
As mentioned, Capt. Saleem was full of facts including lots of unknown trivia. It was a lot of fun, but a hot day, so remember the sunscreen and a cap.
The tour...
