I moved in right before the new management began grabbing a foothold. The short story is, this experience has been terrible.
In attempts to make the apartments more appealing to college students, the new management has begun a series of "renovations" which are so far completely cosmetic. After stating they were going to be repaving the parking lot, turns out they just found a way to spray paint the lot with a black tar so that it looks a little nicer, but makes the lot slick when it rains. This complex is built on the side of a hill, and after the first rain we watched several vehicles attempt to drive up the hill, spinning tires and taking more than two attempts to make the climb. Figuring the is a safety hazard and a complete inconvenience, we talked to the office the next day–as did several residents. They told us they were not doing to do anything about it. Two months later, my roommate was rear-ended by another driver because of not being able to fully stop going down the slick pavement in the rain. Even after mentioning this to the office again, with proof that accidents can occur from this pavement and could be much worse, they still don't see a problem with the lot.
Next includes the issue of the gate. We've been living in this apartment for a while and even before we moved in the gate did not work at the complex. They decided to repair it, and of course charge residents with more than one vehicle $75 to get an extra pass. Now, as someone who's lived here for months being able to get in and out regularly, it seems silly to suddenly have to pay $75 to do something you've been able to do this entire time. In order to allow in guests, you must have a Georgia phone number to buzz them in, which was also stated that if we don't already have one we must have our phone numbers changed. The office manager told us this applies to all residents, and anyone moving in will have to change their number to a Georgia line because the software for the gate does not work with out-of-state phone numbers. If you're very connected to your phone number, this is of course a stupid request just to get in and out of your apartment. If you are tech savvy you know that Google Voice can probably whip up a number for you, but most residents here (currently) seem to be families that may not be aware of this service and Google Voice doesn't always have area numbers available. I had to enter in random Georgia zip codes until I finally found a few available.
Aside from these big issues, there are several unfulfilled requests we made when we moved in that simply never happened, from seeing if there's a way to keep our balcony from flooding in the rain to constant roach issues. It took three hours and several phone calls & trips to the office to have them relight a water heater pilot light in December. The laundry rooms can not be used because the ceiling is falling through on one, the dryers are full of dirt, sand and stench in another, and there are barely passable as washers in the last. It may state laundry rooms are available, but we have to go offsite just to wash clothes. Instead of updating those, they put in a nice gazebo & grills that stays behind locked gates. Trash is usually everywhere in the parking lot because the complex only has one trash dump and most people throw their trash bag on their cars and drive up the hill. If it falls, most people leave it behind.
The gym is a joke, it can only be used during their office hours and I'm pretty certain the term "cyber cafe" hasn't been used since the 90s. So any special features they use to try and sell this place, don't expect many to actually be true. The main issue here is this place is trying to find ways to improve the complex so that they can get a younger crowd in and charge more per apartment. They don't have much of a concern with current residents, all they are worried about is if you pay your rent on time.
And don't try to go to management with anything. It usually ends with a headache.
This place was an absolute nightmare. There were roaches found on my move in day. The fan on the air conditioner runs all day...driving up the electric bill. Office staff is very rude. Interior hallways are filthy...dead bugs and insects. You'll have to call maintenance at least 5 or 6 times before they'll come to make repairs. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.
Hey all , you get what you paid for.Rent is very cheap here. I dont think you can get a lot when you pay less.I always had a good experience with leasing people. They seem to be nice. If I have more money i would not live here. But i like the customer service this complex is offering with such a lower rent.Iam sure there will be issues when you live in a cheap complex
Run for the hills!!!!' Horrible place...bugs, dirty and nasty management. Crime rate is high.
This place is the biggest mistake !! If you want a place with roaches and ice heads with your ac always breaking this is it . The management always says they will fix it but nothing ever happens . My lease is finally almost up can't wait to get the hell out of here !!!!!!!!!!
The place is poorly managed and maintained. The common hallways are ALWAYS dirty, glass door and side hallway windowns were never cleaned in the year I lived there. Glad I'm moving. I will pay more, but it will be worth it. I lasted a year, but not sure how.
