They started out very strong with a rotating menu of interesting dishes that were outside the red sauce joint box.
Avalon's owner has another restaurant in West Chester, which is really Downingtown's cooler older sister, so they probably overreached. Sad.
Great dinner. Great service. Decadent dessert. Cheese plates overpriced, but the rest of the evening was top notch.
They have a lot of small plates, which I like. The food is good italian not quite traditional, but very good. The Prix Fixe option is very nice and a decent value. It is a BYOB, I believe still. It does get busy so reservations is a good idea.
