My wife and I had the Wednesday luncheon special of chicken-fried steak. The meal included mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, coffee, water, and a roll for the low price of $6.99. Large restaurant with simple tables and chairs. Typical midwestern dining club food at dinner. Friendly, efficient service. Not much atmosphere, but there is not much in town, anyway. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but they told us they would be closing for dinner before October, so check first. They also have a display of Nebraska Baseball Hall of Fame...

Husband had chicken fried steak that was not hot and I had a steak...the steak was so tough that I could hardly cut and too rare. Two tables asked for A-1 sauce and they were out! The food is mediocre and the atmosphere is not where I want to spend time with friends and family. Service was so-so and the owner seemed grumpy. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

When in Beatrice

This is a must do in Beatrice. It is where the locals eat. Good basic food, good friendly service, and a good price. The Nebraska baseball hall of fame is here and it was a disappointment. It Would have been helpful if there were bios of the honorees. There were only plaques and names.
