Help us make it rightAster's technically doesn't offer family-style seating, but the food here is definitely family style, with wide sheets of sour injera bread laid down on your table, along with large plates of stewed and meats and vegetables that everyone eats with their hands. It's a scene I find oddly romantic -- I guess because you can only eat that way with true friends, whom you'll love no matter what sauces end up on their cheeks.
In Short
The no-frills atmosphere leads diners to believe they've discovered a hidden gem among all of the campus-area fast food establishments. Two side dishes and two injera (a...
The food is awesome and really authentic it's pretty amazing for a small joint like this. The staff is really helpful and accommodating. We ordered from they're meat selection. DONOT expect a huge selection or a great variety they do what they do ( a few meat and a few vegetables) really well. That being said, I'm surprised there isn't a huge rush here !
A real surprise as the restaurant looked like a bit of a dive on the outside. Staff were great, I loved the food and it was great value for money! Highly recommended!

We had a groupon so decided to try this place. Very glad we did. The service was great and the food very yummy!
We had a lunch buffet at Aster's Ethiopian and enjoyed the Buffet. The food is flavored with spices similar to Indian food so we enjoyed it. It was also a good value for the price. The place looks quite unimpressive but it is clean and the food is good.

Ethiopian fare is traditionally eaten with the hands and typically served atop injera bread. The injera is broken into small pieces and used to scoop food as a utensil.
Tables are also available on the covered outdoor patio.
The all you can eat lunch buffet is offered Tuesday through Friday, 11am to 2pm.
