A "bright place for a light meal", this "cozy" Greektowner offering both counter and table service bakes up "beautiful breads" and "interesting savory pastries" to go with other "tasty", "affordable" Greek-Mediterranean bites; "too busy for the service to be perfect", it's still "quick" and easy for lunch or an "after-theater/concert snack."

Artopolis Bakery Cafe & Agora Restaurant Review

This trailblazer (for Greektown, anyway) bypasses flaming cheese in favor of homey Mediterranean deli fare with an emphasis on Greek flavors. That means dishes like roast leg of lamb with oregano, mint and rosemary aïoli, and oven-braised beef with orzo, red wine tomato sauce and kasseri and mizithra cheeses. And the food displays, well, they'll make you want one of everything. We like the...

Casual Greektown spot with a hip young scene and menu of traditional dishes.

Bakeries: Artopolis prides itself on producing fresh-baked goods in its own kitchen. The place's name comes from a combination of the words "artos" and "polis" (bread and town, respectively), and the menu features a variety of breads, pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and classic Greek dishes. The dessert menu includes specialty coffees and organic teas.

This place is as traditionally Greek as a bakery can get. They host a café, excellent baked goods, and do custom baking to satisfy and customer demand.
