This is the same customer who made the post under the name Disappointed Debbie. This person has turned this into her personal vendetta, making wild, false accusations not only on this site but many others across the world wide web. The truth of the matter again is this. We made a small mistake installing the new equipment for this couple. We immediately came out and fixed the problem, did extra work at no cost to them, and offered them cash back in the form of a check for $150. This check was cashed within five business days. If they were so unhappy with our offer, why did they cash the check. The husband was polite and seemed genuinely pleased with all that we had done. The wife was not and for whatever reason made verbal threats over the phone. I wish we could please everyone and am happy to say that this is quite the isolated case. There are plenty of references to prove that we do exceptional work and provide exceptional service with a smile.

I went out of my way from the original call to this customer's home to the the second and final quality inspection, even taking multiple phone calls on the weekend including Sunday evenings. The customer negotiated the price down from the original quote, not the other way around. The installers made a small mistake on the installation of the system which we went back and corrected without hesitation. We did extra work for them replacing part of their duct work not included in the contract at NO ADDITIONAL cost plus offered them a free service contract for a year and $150 for their inconvenience. Unfortunately even this did not prove to be enough to please the customer. At the point of receiving threats via the phone from this individual I realized it was time to write this one off. I used this company and had trouble with the work done (poorly installed & cutting corners on paperwork). Come to find out Appel never pulled a permit as required by law for Marion county. We are waiting for the county inspector to finish work on the poorly installed equipment. If you use this company, be sure they cross their t's and dot their i's before you let them do the work or you might get fined! I would also recommend having the county inspector looking at the finished product, otherwise you might not have properly installed equipment -- what a mess!!!
Not only did the sales rep, Scott Appel, charge us extra for his mistake (he told us we previously had a heat pump when we told him it was an air conditioner -- then when the techs were installing the equipment, we had to pay extra from what was contracted since our thermostat wouldn't work with a heat pump -- he didn't even know what kind of equipment he was looking at! The techs put OUR FURNACE AND HEAT PUMP IN COMPLETELY WRONG! After two weeks of begging them to come back out because we could hear water running through our vents, they finally did. WE HAD 5 GALLONS OF WATER IN THE BOTTOM OF OUR FURNACE! It was awful trying to work with Scott Appel. He yelled at us and told us we were trying to get something for free. He gave us $150 back. That really covered the cost of missing two days of work and the concern for whether or not our equipment is even installed correctly this time. COME TO FIND OUT, HIS LICENSE EXPIRED IN 2005! BE CAREFUL WHO YOU CHOOSE AND DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST!!

I called Williams Comfort Air first. Bad idea. They quoted $988 to fix my A/C. Called Appel and they fixed it for $200. It was a great experience. Cannot recommend enough.
