In 2008, longtime Austinites Nance and Jameson lost their lease after running the popular...

Old-school Austin cafe settles into a gorgeous loft.

Sand-blasted brick, warm dark chocolate-stained cement floors and massive front windows only start to define the huge new space occupied by this beloved Austin caterer and cafe. Breakfast or lunch can be a
high-quality value, not…

Lunch with atmosphere

Great ambiance and love the character. The food is all very fresh and portions were very generous! Several of us had the tomato Brie sandwich - I felt the basil was overwhelming and I probably would try something else next time. I had the carrot-ginger soup and it was excellent. A lot of flavor and the baguette was very tasty....

Poor Service

Nice place, terrible service. We were ignored and the manager was unconcerned and unapologetic. Unfortunate given their prime location.

Delicious Breakfast

Went there on a monday morning. Got the breakfast sandwich, it was huge and delicious - just what I needed at the time. Cool ambiance and good service. They have a nice outdoor setting, try and sit there or at the bar.

Cute Spot for a Quick Bite

Service was great, food was served promptly and our attendant granted every request. It can get busy during usual rush hours, but that’s why this cafe have a large bar area, where there is no waiting line and no need to carry trays with numbers. Did notice that there seem to be few servers behind the counter for the number...

Expensive, slow service, ordinary food

Slow, surly service and ordinary food. Expect to wait a long time for your breakfast (40 mins) and it not to be worth the wait.
English Breakfast consists of 1/2 slice of bread, 3 pieces of bacon, 2 Poached eggs, potatoes and a tiny slice of melon for $12.25. Want an extra 1/2 slice of bread? That will be a...

Business description (3)

This bistro-esque eatery in Downtown Austin makes for a great lunch or brunch spot. Annie's is claimed to be one of the oldest restaurants in the neighborhood. Using locally sourced, organic ingredients, the kitchens here produce made-from-scratch, popular picks such as chicken schnitzel and steak frites. The trout almondine here is much recommended. There are a few veggie options like...

What once was Apple Annies is now just Annies... a nearly round-the-clock restaurant and bar-meets-decadent-takeout hub-meets-continental sidewalk café.

"Lots of Downtown office workers" like this midpriced cafe featuring a "modestly adventurous" New American menu served from morning till late on weekends; the bistrolike atmosphere is comfy, and although the "lively" space gets hectic during the daytime rush, happy hour is relaxed with folks unwinding over nibbles and creative cocktails; P.S. don't miss "lovely patio dining" in warm weather.

Tips about this business (2)

The many wine bottles on display all throughout the dining room are not for decoration. Ask for recommendations.

This sunny room easily transitions into a sophisticated bistro at night; on Friday and Saturdays, the upright piano gets put into use by a jazz band.
