I choose to take Amtrak from the central coast to Fresno for day visits to my family. For $32 round trip you can barely drive it for that. Not to mention wear and tear on your car and the drudgery...

I love riding on Amtrak, and usually there aren't any problems, but I returned from a trip yesterday, and the ticket agent at Hanford was kind of rude. The station itself is clean & feels safe.
