Good for a quick business trip

The hotel is historic so the AC/heater wasn't working. They have a fan attached to the ceiling to cool off the room. The bed was a bit uncomfortable. Staff was great.

Everything was great for this price! Room with fridge, microwave, internet and tv! location is close to university ave., you can find loads of great food. going to downtown is easy too just 15mins of bus.

We travel back and forth between our home town and the City to visit relatives and try and stay in a different place each time absorbing the culture of San Francisco and surrounding areas. It is a little of the beaten path but clean and comfortable. It is a little hike from BART, but my wife and I enjoy walking and the neighborhood was quaint. This old school hotel is oriented away from the main street, so feels safer than many Berkeley hotels. It has the basics a traveler needs--internet, cable TV, a small frig and microwave. The staff is friendly and the location is central.

A part of the Berkeley landscape since the late 1940s, this hotel was built with a classis Spanish architectural style and offers 38 tastefully appointed guest rooms and suites, as well as five fully equipped two bedroom cottages, all with many charming features and standard amenities. A restaurant and a gift shop are also on the property and coffee and donuts are served each morning.
