One of the few tasting-menu-only restaurants in Seattle, Altura asks its guests to trust the chef and share a culinary trip paved with luxury ingredients mixed with Northwest and Italian ideas. The hallway of a space on bustling Broadway hides what happens behind the marble counter in the open kitchen.
I was disappointed overall. The food was ok, not that great. I've had much, much better food and overall experience in NY and SF in same price range. I was expecting something along those lines.
Honestly, I was slightly disappointed in the service. For a dinner for two costing $500 dollars, I expect to be blown away by all aspects of the service and food and that was not the case. Also, $135 per person just for a wine pairing?!?! This is not NYC! The food was very good, but I think they are trying to be like the Willows Inn or Herb Farm (at least you'd think so based on the cost) but...
Amazing dining experience. I am always blown away with the quality and creativity. I will definitely be back.
Beautiful and artistic taste profiles and superb wine pairings make for a true culinary immersion. The experience is expensive, but for those looking for truly fine dining, Altura is truly well worth it.
The dinner included numerous "bites" and several courses of varying types of foods that were prepared very uniquely. It is a dining experience that takes ~ 3 hours. I thought the service was fantastic and was intrigued with all the different types of food preparations. I thought the wine pairing was a little expensive but the meal itself was worth every penny and I will plan to return again to...

Choose from 3, 4 or 5 course fixed dinners, or order a la carte. It almost goes without saying that reservations are required. Named best Seattle restaurant in 2012, Altura truly is a jewel of the Emerald...
