Alma Cocina Restaurant Review

Alma Cocina fills the lobby of one of downtown Atlanta’s skyscrapers. The restaurant has a sort of faux patio and also offers seating in a dimly lit space supervised by the taxidermied head of a long-horned steer. The kitchen occupies territory to the rear of the dining room, and through a wavy amber glass, one can see chefs darting about their chores. As for the Mexican cuisine, anything from...

In the heart of tourist row, lies something truly Authentic. A latin star has been born in the form of Alma Cocina downtown. A destination for night out of tapas and artisan libations; the salsa sampler with its surprising mix of chicharrones, yucca & corn chips & an array of ceviches reject what we've come to think of as authentic regional cuisine. Take note though, a designated driver might be handy as well when it comes to AC's own tequila, a hand-picked blend concocted on trips down south.

Where to Eat and Drink in Atlanta During Dragon Con

This weekend, an anticipated 50,000 attendees converge on downtown Atlanta for the 26th annual Dragon Con. Whether you're donning a Stormtrooper costume yourself or coming to admire the pageantry and snap some fun photos, one thing is certain— you're going to want a drink (and, probably, something to eat) while you're there. As always, Eater is here for you with your best bests for eating and...

See Blais at the Spence and Flip; Tamale Tuesdays at Alma

BLAIS WATCH— Atlanta ex-pat Richard Blais will actually be at his local restaurants in a few days: "Hey Atlanta ! ( Harry Caray voice ) I'll be at @TheSpenceATL Saturday & Monday nights and @FlipBurger Buckhead Monday night! Come say hello!" The chef has moved out to San Diego, where he's opening a place called Juniper & Ivy. [Twitter]

Editorial review from Citysearch

The food in here is just great, they have so many great roast dishes in here. I have to say that this maybe is one of the best places to go to in the city.

Great spot for casual dinner! Cucumber Salad and the Beet Salad were both delicious and fairly large. The chicken carbon was tasty as well. We loved all the side condiments for making your own...

Modern Mexican with Latin influences in the heart of downtown Atlanta.

Tips about this business (3)

Upscale Mexican fusion from Fifth Group; brisket enchiladas were awesome, as was their mole! Great addition to the lack of good spots in the area.

Parking is free but tricky to fine. Swing behind the building to Peachtree Center Avenue and ring the buzzer after hours.
