This subterranean pub is one of Manhattan's undiscovered treasures -- the quintessential neighborhood "snugger." It's easy to miss from the street, and the regulars like it that way. The All State attracts a grown-up neighborhood crowd drawn in by the casual ambience, the great burgers, and an outstanding jukebox. If you're lucky, you'll get the round table by the fire.
Better late than never to write a review. I just found out my old watering hole is closed. Spent a lot of time there and it was a great place for locals and out-of-towners. This place is awful. At first it may seem like a nice, cozy, neighborhood spot, but then you realize the food is overpriced and the staff is rude. Usually these types of places are right up my alley--simple, ""dive"" bars. But this place is just obnoxious.
There are a lot of much friendlier bars with good, resonably priced food in this neighborhood.
Pros
+ they serve booze
Cons
- theyre mean, angry, and rude
