All American charged me $290 to replace a capacitor in my heat pump because, according to the gentlemen who answered the phone, ""That's what I charge. That's what a lot of guys charge."" Keep in mind the capacitor is a $30 part that requires about 15 minutes of labor to install. $290 seems a little high to me. Even if there is a 100% markup on the part - that's almost $1000 per hour for labor. I purchased my heat pump from All American and have used them exclusively for every service over the past 9 years but I won't use them again after this apparent price gouging.
