The Abbey Bar Restaurant Review

It may look like an ordinary pub from the outside, but this bar truly is a beer connoisseur’s hangout. With more than 30 brews on tap --- including New Glarus Spotted Cow Ale and Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest --- you are bound to find your favorite or discover a new one. The wine list offers a nice choice of reds and whites by the glass or bottle. Within walking distance of St. Norbert College,...

It may look like an ordinary pub from the outside, but The Abbey Bar is a beer connoisseurs' hangout. With more than 30 different brews on tap, you are bound to find your favorite. I tended bar there while attending SNC. Was working on a Bears vs. Packers football Sunday (circa 1981). Some Bears fans came into the bar following the game. Things got ugly. A lot of people went to jail!

Very disappointed. Burger was burnt, the "raw" onion was days old and soggy. The fried pickles we burnt the 1st time and just under burnt the second time. They didn't even tasted like pickles, tasted like fried mush. The boneless wings were so over cooked they crunched after having to shove a fork in them. The only saving grace was not having to pay for it. But then again water is free & that's...

Avoid the Abbey this week. Slow service on college move in day. Poor Manager is working hard but they can't get food out on College move in day.

I was told not to eat here because the food was not good. I didn't listen. The spinach artichoke dip was mashed up spinach with no flavor. My son ordered a fish sandwich and i dont even know what it was they brought him. I told them again what he ordered and the waitress apologized. A couple minutes later she returns with a fish sandwich. I break it in half to let it cool, but it was not...

Always a feature beer and mixer to enjoy. 30 Beers on tap, and at $3 the feature can't be beat!

Best Nightlife: A high ceiling and close proximity to St. Norbert College likely justify the name of this De Pere sports bar, where locals gather to shoot pool, play shuffle board, and test their skills on the Golden Tee machine. An upstairs area is available for private parties, and the sit-down dining area is open to those wanting less congested environs. Plenty of televisions are visible...
