AAA in Rockland, Massachusetts provided poor travel service. I booked a cruise/airfare using a cruise voucher, which was awarded by Celebrity for a previous cancellation. AAA in Rockland made all the arangements (cruise, airfare, etc) and I was informed that I needed to pay a $900 deposit that would be refunded 3 months prior to the cruise date. I was informed that the vouchers would cover the cost of the cruise and airfare (excursions excluded).
However, 3 months before the cruise, after I contacted them to follow-up on an itinerary for the air travel, I was informed that I would not be refunded the $900 deposit and that I owed an additional $1000 for airfare (for two people). AAA claimed that the cruise voucher does not cover airfare. Although this may be true, it's expected that when you use a travel agency, your travel is finalized and there are no unexpected fees (amounting to $1900) that arise a few months before your vacation. Although I filed a complaint with AAA, I was never offered an apology. The AAA travel manager was not helpful at all. I filed a complaint with AAA's customer relations, and after a few days of reviewing the case, I was informed that AAA was not at fault.
I would highly recommend finding a different travel agency. AAA's business ethics and customer service leave a lot to be desired.
